JC plans first annual Eagle Fest

The holidays are over and as we adjust to the new year; the fears of going back to our daily routines are finally fading away. After the second week in January, everyone is usually back on schedule; after the third week, the longing for spring break settles in. To make the wait more bearable, Johnson Central is hosting its first ever festival.

“Eagle Fest” will be held on Friday, January 31 on Central’s campus. Some of the activities include: a craft fair in the cafeteria, food vendors outside, live music, and carnival games for everyone. Central’s talent will be well represented that night with performances from the JCHS Choir and Band and a special performace from that Friday’s 2020 Eagle Idol Winner. Central’s 4A football state champions will also be there for a meet and greet and pictures with the trophy.

For all of you Apple Day fanatics, this festival is going to be a great night for the community and history making for the high school. Not only is there student involvement but there is student leadership taking place. The senior class is spearheading the event and its logistics. In fact, most of the proceeds during the festivals are going towards the seniors’ end of the year trip; similarly, all other proceeds will be going to the school related vendors for their sport or club. It’s going to be a spectacular event for an extraordinary cause! Don’t just be excited for spring break, be excited for Eagle Fest and the fact that it’s happening in January!
