Flat Gap Elementary hosted its 2nd annual Farm & Field Day, an event that showcased the school's unique community-oriented approach. Under the guidance of Greyhound student leaders, 135 students, 55 community members, and other volunteers participated in the event. Visitors gained insight into various types of farm machinery, explored a bee station, and enjoyed face painting. Students also discovered the fundamentals of farming, farm animals, and Flat Gap's history. The beef association, Auxier farms, and Donnie Witten treated students to bluegrass music and dance. As a community school situated amidst farmland, Flat Gap Elementary's event highlighted its distinctive character. Every Greyhound student played a vital role in making the Leader in Me Farm & Field Day a great success.
