Johnson Central High School is proud to announce that the Johnson Central High School Honor Choir has been selected to perform at the 2026 White House Holiday Open House in Washington, D.C.

The Honor Choir was selected from more than 1,000 applications submitted by groups from across the United States, making this recognition a remarkable achievement and a prestigious honor for Johnson Central High School Honor Choir students and the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky. As part of this distinguished opportunity, the Honor Choir will travel to Washington, D.C., where its talented vocalists will represent Johnson Central High School, their community, and Kentucky during the White House holiday celebration. The choir will share two hours of Christmas music, filling the White House with the beautiful sounds and spirit of the holiday season.

This extraordinary invitation is a testament to the students’ musical talent, dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence. It also provides an opportunity for these young performers to share the rich musical traditions and warm holiday spirit of Eastern Kentucky with the nation as they take the stage in our nation’s capital.

Being selected from more than 1,000 applicants is a tremendous honor. Our students have worked incredibly hard to develop their musical gifts, and we are thrilled that they will have the opportunity to represent Johnson County and the great Commonwealth of Kentucky at the White House.

The significance of this opportunity extends far beyond the stage. It is a moment of pride for the entire Johnson County community and an opportunity to celebrate the dedication of the students, and the support of administration, families, educators, and community members who have encouraged them throughout their musical journey.

The Johnson Central High School Honor Choir is honored to share this special experience with the community and looks forward to bringing a little piece of Eastern Kentucky Christmas spirit to our nation’s capital.
