Johnson County School District is excited and incredibly grateful for the announcement of $2.9 million in funding through the AMLER program to support our new Career and Technical Center!
Established by Congressman Hal Rogers in 2016, the AMLER program supports economic development and new opportunities in communities impacted by the decline of the coal industry.
Superintendent Thom Cochran shared:
“On behalf of the Johnson County School System, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the AMLER program for awarding us this grant. This funding is a critical piece for our district as we construct our new Career and Technical Center. Specifically, these resources will allow us to continue construction of our health science classrooms and labs, as well as build new high tunnel greenhouses for our agriculture pathways. Investments like this directly support our mission to provide students with hands-on learning environments that truly prepare them for life beyond high school, and we are deeply appreciative of the continued support for our schools and community.”
