This week in 5th grade math, students created line plots to show their understanding of data! 📊
They’ve been working so hard on this skill. Turns out, they are very creative with graph titles and creating scales—and yes, there were excellent discussions about where those X’s belong. 😄

Our 6th graders were locked in today during an incredible literacy block! Mrs. Wright combined HQIRs with vocabulary work to keep the rigor high and the learning deep. 📚✨
By using Kagan Structures, every student was moving and talking, while We Will Write ensured those big ideas landed on paper. Mrs. Wright kept the pace fast and the energy high—there wasn't a dull moment in the room!
Way to go, 6th grade! 👏

Highland Elementary 5th graders are ready to spread their wings and fly into the middle school! After a red carpet welcome, they were introduced at the many opportunities available at JCMS. The tour of the building made them excited for their new adventures! Thanks to the students and staff for being such wonderful hosts at today's Opportunity Fair!

🎒 Big Steps, Bright Futures! 🏫
Our 5th and 6th graders took a giant leap toward their next adventure today! We spent the morning touring the middle school to get a "sneak peek" at where they’ll be heading next year.
From navigating the hallways and checking out the lockers to meeting some of their future teachers, the energy was a mix of nerves and pure excitement. It’s a big transition, but after seeing them in action today, we know they are more than ready for this next chapter.
