Fourth grade students met their wildly important goal by increasing their math fact fluency class average by another 15%. They celebrated with hot chocolate, a movie, and their own pajama day. Way to go!

Highland Christmas Project - We are once again helping spread a little Christmas Cheer to residents at Mountain Manor nursing home. We are asking for students to make a Christmas card and donate a item to add to our care packages. We want to lift some spirits this season! Thank you for your help to make this possible!

Highland Elementary’s Student Lighthouse Team decorated a tree for the Paramount Arts Center’s Festival of Trees and Trains. They had a great time viewing all of the trees and making plans for future community projects.🎄#studentslead #theleaderinme

Students in Mrs. Bayes’ third grade classes completed a stem project in collaboration with their reading class. Students created a character balloon that would appear to float without the use of helium. After completion, students participated in a parade around the school.
Students in Mrs. Adams’s third grade classes completed a book study on Balloons Over Broadway, a true story about Tony Sarg and the Macy’s Day Parade. Students worked with mentor sentences, analyzed primary sources (newspaper articles), created advertisements, and much more.
Students competed in the District STLP Competition today. They were so excited to move on to Regional competition in December. Congratulations Julie Dials, Anna Kate Cantrell, Ellabeth Blair, Jackson Powers, and Jaxton Marshall.
