The Johnson Central Solar Car Team received a grant for software with a market value of over $100,000 from Siemens. This software, made possible with our partnership with the University of Kentucky College of Engineering and the Power and Energy Institute of Kentucky, will allow our team to use the same software Formula 1 teams and industry professionals use to design, simulate, and analyze our car before building begins to get an upper hand and to save money and time on re-designs.

Senior Offensive Tackle Grant Bingham will sign his National Letter of Intent to the University of Kentucky on Wednesday, December 15th to play football for the Wildcats. Bingham received over 20 NCAA Division I scholarship offers and has elected to make Kentucky his home.
Bingham is a four-star prospect, ranked 3rd in Kentucky and 30th nationwide in his position. A 4-year member of the Golden Eagles, he is a 2019 4A State Champion, 2x State Runner-Up, and named 4A District 8 Player of the Year for 2021. In his time at Johnson Central, Bingham has been a multi-sport athlete, also excelling in basketball and tennis.
We are so proud of Grant and can't wait to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment!
