
We are Thankful!


The Johnson county school district is closely monitoring the weather and road conditions. As of 9:30 pm, we are still on regular schedule. Roads are clear and safe. We will be back out very early in the morning to check for safety of travel. We are doing our best to be in school tomorrow, as it will be our students’ last day before Thanksgiving Break. We will post any changes, delays, or cancellations to our social media. Thank you and have a great evening- and go to bed kids, we plan to see you tomorrow!!!!

Mrs. Bevins class enjoyed a quick trip outside to see the first snowflakes of the school year. They were all so excited!

It is time for 4th and 5th grade academic practice! If your child is interested please allow them come to our first days of practice this Tuesday and Thursday ( 2:50 - 4:00) !


The 5th grade students in Miss Fairchild's math class worked extremely hard this week learning how to read, write, and compare decimals. The students played games such as Decimal War, Roll the Dice, and Quiz N' Show. The students also participated in a decimal scavenger hunt!

Highland students fill our Blessing Box


Thank you to all the veterans who attended our ceremony yesterday. We are so grateful for your service to our country. Thank you for sharing the special day with us.

Mrs. Bevins' first grade class used different Kagan structures this week. The students used Rally Coach and Quiz - Quiz - Trade to practice their doubles facts in math. We also did a Fun Friday team building activity where students used Jot Thoughts to think of their favorite animals. Then they as a team created a new animal using features from each of their favorite animals. It was an amazing and fun week of learning!

Mrs. May's class used a new Kagan strategy as a team building activity to make a "New" animal species! They had so much fun with Jot Thoughts.




We would like to invite our veterans to a special ceremony on Monday, November 11th at 9:00 AM. Students, please wear red, white and blue.
