Chemistry + Pumpkins = Science Fun!
This week in chemistry, we sorted pumpkins based on certain characteristics to explore periodic trends like atomic size, ionization energy, and electronegativity! Students compared their "pumpkin elements" to see how properties change across a period and down a group.
Who knew learning about the periodic table could be so gourd-geous?

In our meeting, we focused on Habit 3: Put First Things First, reflected on past activities and events, and started planning several upcoming projects — including our Positivity Bulletin Board and Veterans Day Assembly. We’re also lending a hand with Red Ribbon Week!

Congratulations to the JCHS Cross Country Teams! The boys team finished as Region Runner up and the girls team finished in 4th place! Individually Riley Derosset medaled in 5th place and Eli Bolden medaled in 8th place!

All AP Exam fees are due by Friday, 10/31. No additional exams can be ordered past this date.
To register for an AP exam you should change your exam status in AP Classroom from "undecided" to "yes". Then, bring the total amount of your exam fees to Ms Austin. If you think you may qualify for FREE exams, please see/email Ms Austin before changing any selections.
Students who would like to register for "exam only" sections can find those codes in their grade level google classrooms.
Students who qualify can receive additional KEES money for passing AP scores. More information about that can be found KHEAA website.
