Big moves in Boyd County yesterday! Huge congratulations to our Johnson County Cross Country Eagles for digging deep and showing up strong at the Giovanni’s Boyd County Invitational. 🦅👟💨 Every mile, every effort, every personal record counts, and these young runners left it all on the course! Boys 6th & Under (2K) Easton Perry (Porter) – 3rd Place 🏆 Cam O’Bryan (Highland) – 10th Place🏅 Jackson Estep (Flat Gap) – 34th Place Nicholas Reel (Highland) – 66th place Girls 4th & Under (1.8K) Paislee Perry (Porter) – 5th Place (9:29) 🏅 Paisley Chaffin (Central) - 53rd Place Special shoutout to brother/sister Easton and Paislee for bringing home top-5 finishes, Cam O'bryan for his back-back top 10 finish, and to Jackson, Nicholas, and Paisley for pushing themselves to get better every race! This week's menu from our student lunch leaders!

Today, Mrs. Skaggs' class took some time to talk about 9/11 and the events that happened in our country. We also focused on the many helpers and heroes who stepped up that day-firefighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, first responders and everyday people. As part of our social-emotional learning, we talked about what it means to be brave, kind, and willing to help others. Students shared ways they can be helpers at school, at home, and in our community.

Eagles SOAR After School Programming

Members of the Adult and Student Lighthouse Teams were seen "synergizing" bright and early this Thursday morning! Another amazing school year is underway for all C.E.S. Eagles!

🏈 No football practice today. Next practice will be Monday September 7th from 5:30-7:30 🏈

🏈 Per Coach Hammond: 2/3 and 4/5 football practice will be in the elementary gym this evening from 5:30-7:30. Shorts and tennis shoes. 🏈

🚨 FLAG FOOTBALL UPDATE 🚨 Per the JCEAA Athletic Director, flag football for this evening has been CANCELLED due to the expected heat index and concern for the safety of our student-athletes. Our 4th graders sharpened their math skills today by reviewing how to round numbers to the nearest hundred thousand! Then, they used dry-erase markers to work addition problems right on their desks. Learning is always more fun when we can write on the desks! 🔢✏️🌟
