Central Elementary School is proud to announce that we have earned a 🟢 GREEN ACCOUNTABILITY RATING on the 2025–2026 Kentucky Summative Assessment!
Even more exciting, our students demonstrated tremendous academic growth across multiple grade levels!
📚 READING PROFICIENCY

Are you ready to hit the mat?! Wrestling season is right around the corner, and we are excited to give our young athletes the opportunity to develop strength, discipline, confidence, and determination!
📅 FIRST DAY OF SIGNUPS: Friday, October 16th
📍 LOCATION: JCHS Football Game
💰 REGISTRATION: $70 per wrestler | $60 each for siblings
Wrestling is about so much more than wins and losses. It’s about building character, learning perseverance, developing a strong work ethic, and becoming a better teammate and leader!
We encourage our Central Elementary Eagles and all Johnson County students interested in wrestling to come out and get signed up!

C.E.S. Family Time for October! This month, we are reviewing Habit 3: "Put First Things First"!
🍎2nd Grade had tons of apple fun today with apple volcanos and q-tip painting! We can't wait to see what else this week has in store for us! 🍏
A few of Mrs. Skaggs' younger students had some hands-on fun with a Gummy Worm Investigation! They combined science and math as they observed gummy worms and explored their color, texture, size, and other characteristics.
The students practiced measurement by using blocks to determine the length of their worms, made observations using their senses, and even tested what happened when the gummy worms were placed in water.
Learning is always a little more fun when you can see it, touch it, measure it—and maybe even eat it when you’re finished!
A huge shout-out to Ms. Monica Whitaker for volunteering her time to read with our students at Central Elementary!
Our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Whitaker and all of our community partners who generously give their time and support to make a difference for our students.

Principal Conley, teachers, and students were truly ALL-IN during today’s Learning Walks. It was exciting to see teachers bringing i-Ready Classroom Math to life through strong instruction, student engagement, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for every learner.
What stood out most was the dedication of the Central team. From Principal Conley’s instructional leadership to teachers’ willingness to reflect, collaborate, and go above and beyond, there was a clear focus throughout the school: our students are worth the work.
A special thank you to Alisha Hall with Curriculum Associates for partnering with us and helping facilitate today’s Learning Walks. We appreciate her support as our teachers continue to strengthen implementation and grow together.
