Mrs. Grim’s Magnetic Reading Group is hard at work building strong foundational reading skills! Using their boards and letter tiles, students are practicing encoding and decoding words while strengthening their phonics skills and growing into more confident readers. Every letter, sound, and word brings them one step closer to reading success!

We also would like to thank the adults and officials at each game that were patient with them and helped them learn how to do this job properly! The 4th & Under team did it again! Huge congratulations to our runners for bringing home the team title at the Giovanni’s Boyd County Invitational for the second year in a row!
These young athletes showed up, put in the work, and dominated the course:
🥇 Henry Cantrell (WR) – Individual Race Champion (1st Place!)
🥈 Trent Gibson (Flat Gap) – 2nd Place Individual Finish
🏅 Holden Cantrell (WR) – 11th Place
🏅 Brayden Toole (Porter) – 12th Place
🌟 Kyle Chaffin (Central) – 33rd Place as 5th team score
⚡ Connor Banks (Central) & Barrett Stratton (Central) – Both set brand-new Personal Records (PRs)!
From individual titles and top-25 medals to clutch team scoring and personal bests, every single runner brought their A-game!!!

Our kindergarten students earned their “I am a Leader!” badges this week for doing an outstanding job practicing Habit 1: Be Proactive! 💚🐾 We are so proud of our little leaders for making good choices, taking responsibility, and showing that leadership can start at any age! 🌟

🇺🇸 Today, some of our 4th and 5th grade students participated in a meaningful 9/11 Service Day Thank-You Note activity in remembrance of September 11th. Through heartfelt notes of appreciation, our students honored those who serve others while demonstrating gratitude, kindness, and leadership. We are so proud of our Tomcats for turning remembrance into service! ❤️🤍💙🐾
On Friday, we had our first Tomcat Meeting of the school year. It was a big kick off to our attendance initiative where "Tomcats Show Up" every day! Student Lighthouse members recognized our August Students of the Month for their hard work and dedication each day.
