🇺🇸 Today, some of our 4th and 5th grade students participated in a meaningful 9/11 Service Day Thank-You Note activity in remembrance of September 11th. Through heartfelt notes of appreciation, our students honored those who serve others while demonstrating gratitude, kindness, and leadership. We are so proud of our Tomcats for turning remembrance into service! ❤️🤍💙🐾
On Friday, we had our first Tomcat Meeting of the school year. It was a big kick off to our attendance initiative where "Tomcats Show Up" every day! Student Lighthouse members recognized our August Students of the Month for their hard work and dedication each day.

Mrs. Sanders' Kindergarten had a great opportunity today as our MAF Math Coach, Mrs. Spradlin, came in and modeled a math lesson for us➕🧮
Our kindergarteners were engaged, thinking critically, and having fun while learning!
We are so thankful for the support and collaboration that helps us continue to grow as educators and provide the best learning experiences possible for our students.

Through ongoing communication with Carissa’s parents, and in honoring their wishes for their daughter, the Johnson County School District asks our entire community to unite in support of her family.
We invite all students, staff, and community members to wear pink on Monday, August 17. Pink was Carissa’s favorite color, and wearing it together will serve as a symbol of our shared love, unity, and support.
Per her parents' wishes, all district schools—including Johnson County Middle School—will be in session on Monday. District flags will fly at half-staff in Carissa’s honor, and counselors and school psychologists will continue to be available in our schools to support our students and staff.
Please continue to keep Carissa’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time.

Just a reminder for the weekend!

Practice is cancelled today due to potential bad weather. The next practice will be tomorrow at 6:30.
It's cross country time!!! Let's dust off our tennis shoes and start pounding the lake trail! Practice will begin Monday, August 10th at the lake. Bring plenty of water for your runner. Can't wait to see all your smiling faces!!!
(Please have a physical completed for your child. Our first race is at the end of this month, so we need to cover a lot of ground!!)
