What a fantastic night of leadership! Our 7 Gold students took charge of their own academic journey during student-led conferences. They did an amazing job guiding their parents through their Portrait of a Learner and score charts, showing incredible growth and taking ownership of their education. Today in Mrs. Staniford's class students engaged in a paired reading of The Giver! 📖📝 Throughout the process, students coached one another on identifying the key plot points and important details that needed to be recorded in their notes. The Moth Man (standard poodle puppy) made an appearance in Agriculture class today at JCMS. Everyone always enjoys a little puppy snuggle (even Mrs Moore). This went along with studying purposes if breeds and why they look the way they do.

Mrs. Patrick's Math 7A class is mastering Mean Absolute Deviation! 📝 Students used the Kagan structure Rally Coach to guide their peers through the calculations step by step, reinforcing their own understanding. It was a great example of teamwork and peer-to-peer learning. 🤝 #JCMSstrong #GoEagles

Being intentional and goal-oriented helps students take charge of their future—one choice at a time.

When we Begin with the End in Mind, we think about what we want to achieve and make a plan to get there. Whether it’s a goal for school, home, or friendships—every great leader starts with a vision.

Let’s keep those leadership conversations going at home! Use the Leader in Me teen book provided to all middle schoolers and reflect on questions like:
✅ What are my goals for this school year?
✅ What kind of person do I want to be?
✅ What steps can I take today to get closer to where I want to be?

When students learn to plan ahead and set meaningful goals, there’s no limit to what they can accomplish! 💫

We just wanted to share pictures of our Eagles hard at work building their birdhouses today during enrichment.

🎉 8th Grade Math Shout-Out! 🎉

Today our students rocked the Kagan Strategy “Match Mine” while reviewing transformations on the coordinate plane. ✨

Pairs worked together to give and follow directions using vocabulary like translation, reflection, and rotation. Not only did they practice math skills, but they also strengthened communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. 💡

So proud of how engaged and collaborative everyone was—our mathematicians are mastering transformations and proving that learning can be both rigorous and fun! 🔥📊
